Aziza Kapadia is a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist. In addition to her work as a Therapist at Babylon Health, Aziza runs a private practice. She works with adult individuals and couples and holds a BACP Accredited Diploma in Counselling and a BACP Accredited Advanced Post Diploma in Couples Counselling.
Aziza can provide a positive experience of brief and longer-term therapy on a range of issues including; anxiety, depression and stress; abuse, bereavement and loss; ethnicity, sexuality and gender identity; relationship issues, breakdown and separation; workplace issues, change and redundancy.
Aziza offers a safe space for clients to bring all feelings without being judged so they feel accepted, valued and understood. Her approach is Person-Centred and non-directive based on the principles that every person has within them the tendency to know what is hurting and, with support, the capacity to draw on their resources to grow in a more positive direction to live a more satisfying life.
Aziza has extensive experience working with diverse people and offers a welcoming and inclusive practice that is culturally sensitive and Gay and Trans-affirmative. Aziza is also an experienced equality and diversity professional and has, for 10 years, led on policy development and staff training. Prior to this she worked for 15 years in advice and advocacy contexts (rape crisis centre, women’s refuges and supported housing). She draws on this broad organisational experience to inform her counselling practice.
Aziza has a passion for being outdoors. Notable hikes include the Italian Dolomites, the Himalayas and the Spanish Pyrenees.
