We have now introduced a new, quick and convenient way to get your medication.
Your options are:
1. Prescription sent to a pharmacy of your choice with email notification when your medication is ready to collect. Usually within the hour.
2. Paper prescription for certain drugs delivered by first class post to your home. You can then take that prescription to a pharmacy of your choice for completion at a time that suits you.
3. Medication delivered direct to you, wherever you are.
Why Medication Delivery?
It’s important to us that you have all options open to you when receiving healthcare through babylon. We also believe that receiving healthcare should fit in with your lifestyle. We know that getting to a pharmacy can be difficult, especially if you’re unwell and collecting a prescription requires a car journey, or if you have children and collecting medication means taking your whole family along with you, or even if you’re at the office all day. That’s why we’ve decided to bring the medication to you.
How does Medication Delivery work?
You consult with a babylon GP as usual. When the consultation is over your GP will send us the prescription and you will receive a notification asking how you would like to receive your medication; if you would like to collect it, or have it delivered.
If you choose to have it delivered, we will send your prescription to our partner pharmacy. The pharmacy will then call you to confirm your delivery address, and take payment. You will have to sign for your medication on delivery.
Is there a delivery charge?
Yes. If your address is outside the M25 you classify for next day delivery, which costs £4.75 plus a minimum prescription cost of £10.
If your address is within the M25 then you can choose next day delivery at the same price as stated above, or you can choose same day delivery. Prices for same day delivery vary depending on the Zone you live in. For example, delivery to Zone 1 starts at £4.50, and delivery to Zone 6 can cost as much as £35.
If you place your order after 5pm you will automatically qualify for next day delivery.
Where can I have my medication delivered?
You can have your medication sent to wherever you are, be it home or the office, as long as you will be there for the day and be able to sign for it when it is delivered.
