Dr. Alastair O’Brien

Dr. Alastair O’Brien is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist. He graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, and trained in London. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology at UCH and the Royal Free Hospital.
He is the Chief Investigator for ATTIRE, a multi-centre clinical trial, obtaining a £1.6 million grant from The Department of Health and Wellcome Trust. He has papers published in several leading journals including Nature Medicine, the Lancet, and Hepatology Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. He is Associate Editor for the BMJ Open Gastroenterology.
