Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
Gemma Holmes is an HCPC Registered and Chartered Psychologist. She is also a Senior Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a CBT Clinical Supervisor. She has over eleven years experience of working in different mental health settings ranging from secure inpatient services to general adult/outpatients and has experience of working with a range of psychological difficulties and disorders such as anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, addictions, trauma, attachment and relational difficulties.
Gemma has trained extensively in a several different therapeutic approaches in addition to counselling and CBT including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and uses Schema and Compassion Focussed approaches in her practice. She also has a special interest in the treatment of trauma and as such, she has completed specialist training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Gemma holds a Bsc(Hons) in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Psychology & Mental Health, a Diploma in CBT & Counselling and an MSc in Forensic Psychology with a Professional Qualification in Forensic Psychology. She currently runs her own private psychological therapy & consultancy service and is a clinical supervisor on a CBT Diploma training course.
In her spare time she enjoys socialising, travelling and has a keen interest in horses and leisure riding; having owned her own horse for many years.
