Q. How can I speak with someone from the babylon clinical support team directly?
A. Please visit the Contact Us page of the website. Alternatively, you can contact our support service on 0330 223 1008 between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday from within the UK. If you're calling from Ireland, please call 00353 (21) 235 5755. Outside of these hours please email email@example.com and the team will respond as quickly as possible.
Q. I have a medical question or health concern about myself or my child, what do I do?
A. You can book a consultation with a babylon GP to discuss your health questions, or use the Ask function to get a quick text response.
Please note that if you are booking on behalf of your child you will need to register them in your Family Accounts and book the consultation through their profile.
If you haven't yet downloaded and registered with babylon, you can download the app from either the App Store or the Google Play Store. Simply register with babylon and book a consultation. Before your consultation is confirmed you will be asked to choose between subscribing for £4.99/€7.99 per month for unlimited GP consultations, and paying £25 for a single consultation.
Q. How do I book a GP consultation?
A. To book a consultation to speak with a GP, select Book a Consultation from the Home Screen. You will be prompted to select a date and time and whether or not you would prefer a phone or video consultation. Enter any additional notes or a photo you would like the GP to see and tap on the green tick.
Q. Can I cancel my appointment?
A. Yes. The only way to do this is by using the app. Select Clinical Records from the Home Screen, tap on Appointments, select the upcoming appointment you wish to cancel and tap Cancel. You will receive an email confirming your cancellation.
You can cancel appointments up to two hours before your consultation without charge. If you book a consultation by mistake, you have five minutes after booking to cancel the appointment before you are charged.
If you have subscribed, there will be no additional charge for GP appointments or cancellations.
Q. Can I choose a female or male GP?
A. We do not currently have the option to choose a female or male GP in the app. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if this is an issue and our clinical support team will assist you.
Q. I missed my appointment but I still want to speak to a doctor. What do I do?
A. The easiest way to speak with a doctor is to book another consultation using the app. If you believe you are having technical difficulties or connection issues please ensure you have good WiFi or mobile internet connection. If you are then still experiencing issues please email email@example.com and a member of our operations team will be in contact as quickly as possible.
Q. Can I see a consultant at babylon face to face in person?
A. No all of our consultations are held virtually. If a physical examination is required then the GP or specialist will request that you have further tests externally.
Q. Can I request to have the same consultant each time?
A. Unfortunately not. The GP available will depend on the day and time requested. The GP you book a consultation with will, however, be able to refer to your previous appointment notes.
Q. The GP has requested that I have further diagnostic tests. What do I do now?
A. You can take this referral to any private clinic or hospital and the staff there will be happy to organise your tests. If you have health insurance it may be that you are covered for tests already, so you might want to glance over your policy first. Q. If I organise tests to be done or I see a Specialist externally, can one of your consultants analyse the results for me?
A. Yes, once the results are available you can book a consultation to discuss the results.
Q. I would like to book a consultation with a babylon specialist, how do I do that?
A. We have a range of specialist consultations available and would be happy to arrange for you to see a specialist. The cost for a specialist consultation through babylon is £49 for monthly subscribers, and £79 for Pay-as-you-go members. Please contact email@example.com and our team will be in contact to arrange this as soon as possible.
Q. I would like to see my NHS GP or specialist for my tests or referral can your GP recommend this?
A. babylon is a private healthcare service and as such our referrals for diagnostic tests and specialists are private. You can speak with your GP to discuss the referral and then make the decision as to whether you get your tests done privately or get an NHS referral.
Q. Can I book an appointment for my family member using my account?
A. No. If the medical matter you would like to discuss is with regards to a family member then the consultation will need to be booked under their account. If they are under the age of 16 you can book a consultation for them through their profile in your Family Accounts. If they are 16 or over they will need to sign-up and log in to the app with their own details to book a consultation.
Q. Are my children able to see a doctor through babylon?
A. Yes you can add your children to your Family Accounts by selecting Settings from the Home Screen and tapping on Family Accounts. Providing they are under the age of 16 and they have been previously added to your account you can book a consultation for them using the drop down menu in the Book a Consultation screen. You will need to switch to their account at the time of the appointment using Settings and Family Accounts, selecting your child's name, and switching accounts.
Q. Do I need to be present if my child needs a consultation?
A. If your child is under the age of 16 years then you will need to be present during the consultation. You must also ensure that the consultation is booked as a video consultation.
