babylon and pharmacies
Pharmacies play a huge role in our mission. We cannot promise to deliver accessible and affordable healthcare without the help of participating pharmacies.
If you represent a pharmacy, please read the details below.
Receiving a prescription from babylon:
Part of our service is prescription delivery within the hour. If medication is required after a consultation, the consulting GP will send a prescription directly to the pharmacy via fax. This will be followed up by a telephone call from a customer support advisor to request the medication be dispensed urgently. The patient can then pick up their medication at a time that suits them. Our GPs will also post hard copies of prescriptions on the same day. If this is not received, please inform us as soon as possible so another prescription can be sent out.
We understand that patients cannot receive their medicines without the authority of the pharmacist on duty. We also ensure prescriptions for controlled drugs are never faxed and our patients are informed the original prescription has to reach the pharmacy before the medicines can be dispensed.
Only the following controlled drugs are prescribed:
● Co-codamol 8/500
● Co-codamol 30/500
● Codeine (only to be prescribed if co-codamol is contraindicated)
● Diazepam 2mg & 5mg
● Zopiclone 3.75mg & 7.5mg
● Oramorph 10mg/5ml
We take misuse and abuse of medicines very seriously. If you suspect a patient is misusing a medicine we have prescribed please contact us.
If you have any queries, or would like to discuss anything further, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
