Here is everything you need to know about our private prescription process. If we're missing anything, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Q. Can babylon GPs prescribe medications?
A. Yes. Our GPs are happy to prescribe the medications you need to get you healthy, and keep you healthy.
Q. How do babylon prescriptions work?
A. When your babylon GP generates your private prescription, it is handled by our Clinical Support team. You can collect your medication from a pharmacy of your choice.
Q. How long will I have to wait for my prescription?
A. You are normally able to collect your prescription from that pharmacy, along with your medication, within an hour.
Q. Does babylon charge for generating prescriptions?
A. No, there is no further charge for generating a private prescription or sending it.
Q. Can I get my medication delivered?
A. No, currently the medication delivery feature is only available on our mobile app.
Q. Will I have to pay for my prescription?
A. Yes you will. babylon is a private health service and our prescriptions are private. The price you pay will depend on the pharmacy you choose, and you do have the option to shop around. If you would like to cancel your prescription or select an alternative pharmacy please contact us at email@example.com
Q. Why does my medication cost more through babylon than it does on the NHS?
A. The price you pay will depend on the pharmacy you choose, and you do have the option to shop around. You are not obligated to collect the prescription and if you would like to select an alternative pharmacy please notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The NHS charges £8.50 per prescription, and this is an administration/processing fee. If you are not exempt you will pay £8.50 per prescription generated.
With babylon we do not charge an administration fee, but you will be expected to pay for your medication. Prices can vary, and if you've been prescribed a branded drug many pharmacies will offer you their own-brand alternative at a much lower cost.
Some medications cost much more privately, and if it looks like the prescription you need will cost you a great deal your babylon GP will alert you to this during your consultation. Most prescriptions, however, are not more expensive than the NHS prescription charge, and in many cases you can get your medication for less privately.
Q. How do I know if my prescription has reached the pharmacy?
A. You will receive a notification in the web-app when your private prescription has been sent, and an email stating that it is ready to collect from the pharmacy. If you are still unsure please contact email@example.com
Q. What if my prescription has not been received by the pharmacy?
A. Please contact babylon directly on firstname.lastname@example.org, or call us on 0330 223 1008, and our Clinical Support team will ensure this is sent immediately.
Q. My prescription is not the same as agreed during the consultation. What do I do?
A. Please contact babylon directly on email@example.com, or phone 0330 223 1008 with the details of the date and time of the prescription and our clinical support team will check the details.
Q. Can I use my Medical Exemption Card to pay for my prescription?
A. No you can not. babylon is a private health service and our prescriptions are private. As the card is only valid for NHS prescriptions it would not cover the cost of a babylon prescription.
Q. Do you offer a repeat prescription service?
A. No we do not. If you do need further supply of your medication please Book another Consultation to speak with a GP.
