Menopause is a transition when your periods stop due to lower hormone levels. This usually happens between the ages of 45 and 55. This transformative phase often comes with a myriad of physical and emotional changes that can be challenging to navigate. At Babylon, we understand the importance of comprehensive menopause care tailored to each person’s unique needs and preferences. That's why we're thrilled to announce the launch of our new Menopause Service in the UK, designed to prioritise your well-being and provide you with the support you deserve.
Our team of dedicated clinicians is passionate about reproductive health and has extensive experience in guiding menstruating people through every stage of the menopause journey. From the early perimenopausal stage, characterised by irregular periods and fluctuating hormones, to postmenopause, when the symptoms may gradually diminish, our experts are here to empower you with knowledge, care, and personalised treatment plans.
What sets Babylon's Menopause Service apart?
With our innovative digital platform, accessing the care you need has never been easier. Our Menopause Service allows you to book initial or follow-up appointments conveniently from your own home. No more worrying about taking time off work or travelling to a clinic – we bring the care to you.
Who is Babylon’s Menopause Service for?
We are happy to provide this new service to members at every stage of their menopause journey, from early perimenopause to the postmenopause stage.
Menopause is officially diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. The average age of menopause in the UK is 51, although the exact timing can vary for each individual. Menstruating people can experience perimenopausal symptoms for up to 10 years before this transition.
Due to the complex nature of menopause care for people with a history of breast or ovarian cancer, we recommend seeking advice through your cancer specialist rather than this service. Those who experience menopause symptoms under the age of 40 may require investigations for primary ovarian insufficiency, therefore this service is also only available for people over 40.

Our approach: holistic menopause care
At Babylon, we take a holistic approach to menopause care. We understand that every person’s experience with menopause is unique, and we believe in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. During your appointments, our clinicians will take the time to listen to your experiences, concerns, and goals. By understanding your individual needs, we can develop a tailored treatment plan that prioritises your well-being and helps you achieve the best possible outcomes.
Treatment options that put you in control
Our comprehensive treatment options include lifestyle modifications, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and alternative approaches. We empower you to make informed decisions about your menopause care, providing you with evidence-based information about the benefits and risks of each option. Whether you prefer a natural approach or are open to HRT, our clinicians will work with you to find the right path that aligns with your values and preferences.
Ongoing support and monitoring
Your well-being is our top priority, and we are committed to supporting you and your loved ones throughout your menopause journey. Our clinicians provide ongoing support to ensure that your treatment plan is effective and adjusted as needed. We want you to feel empowered and confident in managing your menopause symptoms, knowing that you have a dedicated team of experts by your side
How it works
- Log into your Babylon account in the Babylon app or via your web browser. If this is your first time using Babylon, you can sign up via your web browser, or download the Babylon app.
- Schedule an initial appointment by selecting “Menopause” when booking your appointment type, and choose a time that works for you from the options available. Your initial consultation will take about 60 minutes where one of our skilled clinicians will speak with you about your health history. It is important to have health metrics such as your blood pressure and BMI ready before your consultation. You will discuss any investigations and treatment options including HRT. Prescriptions will be created as part of your consultation. .
- After your initial consultation, we recommend booking a 20 minute follow-up appointment in 3 months to discuss the impact of previously implemented interventions, and for your clinician to provide further advice to manage your menopause symptoms. Again, it is important to have health metrics such as your blood pressure and BMI ready before your consultation.
- From there, we recommend booking regular 20 minute appointments every 3 to 6 months, depending on your personalised treatment plan.
- Further investigations may be offered during your initial consultation or during follow-up appointments.
- Blood tests, ultrasounds and DEXA scans may be suggested by your clinician if deemed necessary. If these additional tests are required, we will recommend trusted providers who can provide the services, or a 3rd party provider can be chosen.
Accessible and affordable care
We believe that menopause care should be accessible to all menstruating people. Our Menopause Service offers competitive pricing to ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving the care you need. Our initial consultation lasts 45 minutes and costs £299, while follow-up appointments are 20 minutes long and priced at £75. Prescription services are included in the cost, but medication expenses are separate. Should any further investigations or tests be necessary, we will recommend providers, and the costs will be handled separately.
Easy booking and continuity of care
We understand the importance of building a trusted relationship with your clinician. That's why we offer personalised teams within our Menopause Service, making it easy for you to book appointments with the same clinician consistently. While your primary clinician will have an in-depth understanding of your case, where necessary, clinicians within our team will have access to your notes and can provide seamless care. All of our clinicians are required to undergo regular training and development to ensure that they remain up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in menopause care. Rest assured, our commitment to excellence ensures that you receive standardised, high-quality care across our team.
Preparing for your first appointment
To make the most of your initial appointment, we recommend measuring your weight, blood pressure, and height beforehand. Please ensure that your ID is valid and available for verification purposes. When measuring your blood pressure, please use a validated blood pressure machine and follow the instructions provided to ensure accurate results.
