What is women's health?

Women's health focuses on the specific concerns of women and people assigned female at birth. This includes, but is not limited to obstetrics-gynecology (OBGYN) services, prenatal and postnatal care, contraception, menopause, menstruation and reproductive health, and more.

It's important to connect with a care provider who understands women's health. With trained doctors and nurse practitioners, you can get tailored medical care. Many of Babylon’s family medicine providers are well educated, experienced, and passionate about women’s health. Reach out to see how they can help!

Women's health services online

Access women's health care services remotely through our Babylon App. You can schedule an appointment online to discuss any health concerns. Telehealth can't provide all the same women's health and family services that an in-person clinic can. However, it can give you the opportunity for quality conversations regarding symptoms or wellness concerns. Even if all services can’t be done via telemedicine, Babylon providers welcome the opportunity to discuss concerns and different treatment options, as many of our providers have also provided in-person women's health care. If needed, you can be referred for in-person care, but many conditions can also be handled remotely with telemedicine checkups.

We offer premier women's health services to help you through all stages of life. Book an appointment through our app's patient portal to talk to your doctor about:

What to expect from online women's health care

Women of all ages can expect top care from our online doctors. Contact women's health care providers to discuss everything from general well-being to specific concerns. When you speak with our providers, they'll help you construct a treatment plan. Your plan may involve wholly or mostly online care, depending on your needs. Your provider can give you health information that will help you choose any in-person care they may recommend.

When you schedule your appointment, your virtual provider will contact you through the Babylon app. Make sure you're in a quiet, private place for your appointment. You will discuss your symptoms and your provider will make recommendations. If necessary, they may send a prescription to the pharmacy you choose.

When you should seek virtual care

If you can't make it to a center for women's health, or you're not sure if you need to go, virtual care is for you. Schedule an appointment at your convenience. Your medical provider will give you more information. If necessary, they'll recommend an in-person visit to a women's health clinic.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911. Babylon does not provide emergency care.

FAQs

Why does women's health matter?

Providers with training and passion regarding women's health can be beneficial. They specialize in female reproductive systems, hormonal cycles, and changes that affect women and people assigned female at birth. Further conditions include endometriosis, irregular or painful periods, uterine, ovarian, or breast cancer; and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Many womens health conditions are personal, and providers passionate about women's health understand this, and work to improve quality of life related to these concerns.

Women's health checkups look for issues that normal checkups may not, including uterine health and signs of breast cancer. They also address complications with your period and reproductive health. In older women, health care providers can guide patients through menopause and help schedule yearly mammograms to screen for breast cancer.

How do I book online women's health appointments?

First, download the Babylon app and create an account using the code provided by your insurer. Then you can schedule an online appointment for any time you're comfortable with. Your doctor will be available to discuss your options and record health information in notes.

How much does an online women's health appointment cost?
